Hello! My Name is NED

Could I take just a minute to tell you a bit about my very special family and me?

I can’t remember how long I had lived on the streets or where I came from. I was dirty, hungry, thirsty, scared, and very, very tired. One day, I saw people coming out of a pretty building; I so hoped that maybe someone would notice me and let me be part of their family. All of a sudden, I heard a soft voice: “Wardlaw, look at that poor little dog. We can’t leave him here. He must be so hot and thirsty.” I looked up and saw a beautiful lady named Susan coming toward me. Was she talking about me? Yes, she was!

They took me home; washed me; fed me; gave me plenty of clean, fresh water; and a soft bed. At last, I could sleep peacefully without being scared. The next day, they took me to the vet to make me well. I was afraid that they wouldn’t keep me, so I tried to be on my very best behavior. After a while, I thought they liked me and heard Susan say, “Wardlaw, this little miracle came to us when the doctors told me I had NED (No Evidence of Disease). Let’s keep him and call him NED.”

My life with my new family is perfect, except for one thing. My Susan is now very ill. That deadly disease they call pancreatic cancer has returned. I try to comfort her by snuggling with her, staying close to her, and loving her as much as I can. She so very much wants to raise awareness and money for research to help others to find a cure.

Please support her by becoming a donor TODAY! . And then take part in the Dog Walk that will be held at Sunset Park in Rocky Mount on October 4, 2008. Please mark the date, and join us for this special event.

My precious Susan would be so grateful, and so would I!
